Wedding photography
Our photographer Robin Cain did a wonderful job capturing the day. We thank her and Steve so much for their great talent! Please enjoy this marvelously long slideshow! (about 10 minutes or so)
WE DID IT!
On Saturday May 30, 2009 in beautiful Boulder, CO - Charles and Jessica became eternal BFF's. Our family (with exception of a few who could not make it + were dearly dearly missed) were all present and the weather held - what a special super fantastic time it all was - from the Pizza party welcome /+ bachelor party, mother's breakfast, rehearsal, a very special wedding ceremony, adorable baby shower to the very last goodbye breakfast for all four "Mr. + Mrs. Carlson" couples.... Over the next 3 weeks the photos will be coming in and the professional photographer will also upload her shots to a nice web page for everyone to enjoy. I will write a more detailed blog post later - but for now here's a sneak peak at some of the cute snapshots from everyone. We are still glowing from the love and overwhelming support of our family and want everyone to know we love you and miss you already!!! Thank you for being a part of our incredible day - Much Love, Chuck and Jesscheck out the pix!

Getting around Boulder
Boulder has an excellent, clean, safe public transportation system. The buses are a joy to ride and the area is so small, its fairly easy to get around.
If you plan to stay awhile, there are various car rental places that you can book ahead of time online or at the airport at time of arrival.
Directions from Denver International to Boulder
From the airport, follow Pena Blvd (10 miles) south to I-70, and exit onto I-70 west. Follow I-70 west to I-270 west. I-270 merges into U.S. 36 west and takes you west into Boulder (about 23 miles.)
Denver International Airport filght status updated every 10 minutes.

from the Courtyard Marriott: The Courtyard uses Yellow Cab taxi service 303-777-7777. Our front desk can call for service. Also Monday through Friday they can take the 206 bus that will pick them up just across the hotel on Pearl and it will drop them off right downtown. The front desk has the bus schedule.
They can also rent a car once they get to Boulder. Enterprise will come pick them up! I recommend the Boulder Super Shuttle to get back and forth from the airport.

CEREMONY AND RECEPTION
We will be holding our ceremony high above Boulder at theSunrise Ampitheater.
This is a very rustic site and since it will be evening and the temperature dips a slight bit when you climb this high, please be sure to bring a light sweater or wrap.
Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse immediately after the wedding. Shuttle departure time and location TBD-coming soon!
**UPDATE 5/10/09 -We had previously stated we would provide shuttles from the teahouse to the ceremony site and back, unfortunately things with the buses did not work out so we are sorry to say we can't shuttle anyone - please email or call to let me know if you need a ride and i will help make sure you get set up with someone who can get you there. Below under MAPS you will find directions. Sorry about this! We hope this is not a terrible inconveinience for anyone.
Although its very close, It takes 30 minutes to climb up the mountain to the ceremony site from downtown Boulder. Parking at the Teahouse:Notes: The parking lot is located behind the teahouse - you may park there, or- next door in the BMOCA parking lot- There is a limited amount of metered street parking on the streets surrounding the Teahouse and throughout downtown Boulder. The parking garage at Walnut & 14th Sts has paid parking on weekdays and free parking on Saturdays and Sundays.

Open space hiking trailheads

Mt. Sanitas
Red Rock
Mt. Sanitas/Red Rocks (trailhead on Mapleton Ave, west of 4th)— A steep ascent up Mt. Sanitas (north of Mapleton) is rewarded with spectacular views of Boulder and the continental divide. Gentler trails are also available and you can do a loop. The Red Rocks (south of Mapleton) is a short easy hike with a nice view of downtown. You can reach it from downtown via the Boulder Creek trail, using the Canyon Boulevard underpass.
Chataugua Park
Chautauqua Park (south of Baseline, just west of 9th)— Gateway to the Flatirons. You can hike an hour or all day on of the extensive network of trails (see topo map on the right). A nice trail map is available at the ranger station. The Chautauqua auditorium (venue of the Colorado Music Festival and other excellent events) and Dining Hall are worth checking out.
Boulder Creek Trail
Boulder Creek trail— Ten miles long from the prairie to the mountains. Passes two blocks south of downtown. Any part of this shaded walkway is delightful. From downtown, the stretch from the Dushanbe Teahouse (13th Street) to beyond Eban Fine Park (4th street) is particularly recommended. As good for people watching as for nature. The Canyon Boulevard underpass at the west end of Eban Fine Park provides access to the Red Rocks.
